Bio:
Hanna C. Howard started writing books in the tenth grade, in a spiral notebook, when she should have been paying attention in math class. Now she writes with no math to disturb her, and always with a pot of tea nearby. An Oklahoma native, she currently lives in the Seattle area with her husband, three young hobbit children, and one very athletic rescue dog. Her first two novels, Ignite the Sun and Our Divine Mischief, are fantasy stories for teen readers, and have a handful of awards between them. Fallow Lies the Blood is her first book for adults, and it is written under the pseudonym Hanna Hedgeward, which incidentally, is a literal Old English translation of Howard. Hanna feels the name is a good representation of what she wants to be as an author: a guardian of the hedge, a keeper of the hearth, and a champion of all that is slow, natural, humble and good on this earth.
